About Us
Our Story

We Get It. Moving to JHU is a Big Deal.

Why We Exist:

CAMP-US wasn’t born in a boardroom. It started because we, as former JHU students (many international ourselves!), know the challenges firsthand: finding safe housing, navigating a new city, making friends, dealing with landlords… it’s a lot! We built CAMP-US to be the support system we wished we had – a friendly partner to make your transition to JHU and Baltimore smoother and more enjoyable.

The Team

Your Friendly Support Crew

Meet the faces behind CAMP-US! We’re a small team of JHU alumni and locals passionate about helping students thrive. We’re here not just to manage properties, but to answer questions, offer advice, and connect you with resources.

Paola Abellar

Executive Assistant

Tenant Whisperer, Bridge Between Worlds

Paola is the glue that holds CAMP-US together — and the bridge between students with 87 questions and the team with 86 of the answers. Whether it’s a last-minute move-in, a clogged shower, or a mysterious lost package, she’s already on it before you even hit send.

She speaks fluent Real Estate, CRM, and Tenant Stress Management. Need to reschedule a showing? Done. Need help understanding your invoice? She’s got it. Need a pep talk at 10 PM because your microwave blinked weirdly? She’s probably already typing a response.

With a background supporting real estate pros and a skill set that includes bookkeeping, office admin, and inbox wizardry, Paola runs the CAMP-US operations like a well-oiled (and always kind) machine. She’s not just an assistant — she’s our frontline, backline, and hotline.

Her motto? “I got you.” And trust us — she does.

Bendris Salah

Cofounder | Head of Compliance

& “All Things Internet”

Bendris Salah is the guy who makes sure CAMP-US doesn’t accidentally get canceled by the internet or the government. As Head of Compliance and Digital Strategy, he’s part rule enforcer, part digital magician. From making the website click-worthy to keeping us legally bulletproof — he’s got it covered.

He’s a former international student himself, surviving the Moscow winters and Russian paperwork jungle during grad school — so yes, he earned his place in this mission. He knows the grind, the loneliness, and the housing nightmares, and that’s why he pours his soul into making CAMP-US feel like home for every student.

Salah has done time in both public and private sectors — marketing, compliance, even government (yes, he wore suits and used official stamps). Now, he channels all that experience into CAMP-US with a smile, a spreadsheet, and a meme folder always ready.

He’s the reason our Instagram looks good and our policies stay clean. Just don’t ask him for too many design changes on a Friday — compliance doesn’t do “fun” on Fridays.

Nassim Azzi

Founder & CEO, CAMP-US

Lord Baltimore 👑

Once an international student lost in the Baltimore housing jungle, Nassim turned his struggle into a mission. After dodging overpriced listings and shady landlords, he swore no student should go through that again. So he founded CAMP-US — part housing platform, part student community, part Baltimore survival kit.

He’s worn the Wall Street suit (investment, banking, asset management), but traded it all in to return to the DMV and help students find more than just a room — a home. These days, you’ll find him personally hosting BBQs, game nights, and listening to students’ ideas like a true student mayor.

Our Approach

More Than Housing: Your Student Partners

CAMP-US isn’t just his company — it’s his passion project, born from experience, driven by empathy, and improved by every conversation with a tenant.
