About Us

More Than Housing: We're Your JHU Student Partners

Why We Exist:

CAMP-US wasn’t born in a boardroom. It started because we, as former JHU students (many international ourselves!), know the challenges firsthand: finding safe housing, navigating a new city, making friends, dealing with landlords… it’s a lot! We built CAMP-US to be the support system we wished we had – a friendly partner to make your transition to JHU and Baltimore smoother and more enjoyable.

Who We Are:

Meet the faces behind CAMP-US! We’re a small team of JHU alumni and locals passionate about helping students thrive. We’re here not just to manage properties, but to answer questions, offer advice, and connect you with resources. (Team bios coming soon!)

Student Stories

Hear From Your Fellow Students

Real experiences from JHU students who found support with CAMP-US.

« I moved into this house in January, and I don’t regret it for a second! Located 10 minute walk from the Homewood campus, 5 min from the Safeway supermarket and a stone’s throw from Remington… »

"The house is charming, with a living room, a dining room, a large kitchen and a backyard which prepares for the beautiful spring days in Baltimore.

The bedroom is very spacious and bright, ideal for working in peace. The room is furnished with everything you need to move in quickly (desk, bed, mattress and sheets), and after three additions of personal decoration, you immediately feel at home.

Life is common is going wonderfully. We are all respectful of the rhythms of others, of silence and of our cleaning schedule (at 5, it goes faster!). I moved in with one of my French friends, but we quickly got on very well with the other roommates.

Both international and French-speaking, the atmosphere is really nice and relaxed, everyone working or studying in different fields and enjoying sharing their days on their way home.

Without there being any obligation, the common areas really invite you to have a good time together, and not just to meet: watch a movie, chat over a coffee before leaving for work, cook in the evening and organize a few things on weekend when there is something to celebrate. In short, the house is warm, very clean, well equipped, with a few adaptable rules that make living together easy and the environment is ideal if you want to meet new people!"

Bertille

Student from France

« My arrival in Baltimore was not easy, in particular because of the search for accommodation which is very different from what one can experience in France. »

"Innocently, I first took accommodation relatively cheaper than the others and which was at a distance that seemed reasonable to me from the university (about thirty minutes by bus). But the functioning of American cities being very particular when you do not have a car, I decided to move near the university. It was a choice that was beneficial and despite the higher rents, and the adaptation to "American-style" shared accommodation (between 4 and 5 people, in a house rather than in a residence), I was delighted . CAMP-US is very available for all requests, shared accommodation is much less demanding than in France and Johns Hopkins University is 10 minutes away on foot."

Thomas,

Student from France

« I’ve loved living at Camp-US’s property. As a Hopkins undergraduate, the house was perfect for me: 10 min walk to campus in a beautiful, safe area. »

"The house is clean with lots of new amenities like washing machines and dishwasher. Nassim is a wonderful landlord! He was always responsive and helped us fix anything we needed quickly. He also stopped by occasionally with some Swiss treats which we all loved!"

Genevieve K.

Student from the USA- computer science

« I highly recommend this apartment at 2714 Maryland Ave, I’m sure that the other locations of Camp-US are in the same quality as this location. »

"I'm currently in a lease, and so far, everything has been great. It's a wonderful place that makes you feel at home, and it's less than a 10-minute walk from the university. Camp-US has helped me with everything needed to settle in and have a great experience studying in Baltimore. The landlord is also fantastic and very helpful with all necessities. Thank you, Nassim!"
