Confirm your off-campus housing move-in date and address in writing, and save your provider’s contact details somewhere offline
Sort your visa or immigration documents if arriving from abroad, and tell your bank and phone carrier your travel dates to avoid a card or SIM block
Pack for Baltimore’s weather — hot, humid summers and a real winter
Follow CAMP-US on Instagram to start meeting your housemates

Confirm move-in time and key-collection instructions with your housing provider, and save a screenshot of the address and house photos
Check what your room comes furnished with, and what to bring yourself
Arrange how you’ll get from the airport or station to Baltimore, then download the TransLoc app for real-time shuttle tracking once you’re there — what’s TransLoc? →

Check in with your housing provider, collect your keys, and walk through your room noting any existing damage
Connect to the WiFi, test your phone signal, and save the emergency numbers from the Need Help panel on this page
Find the nearest grocery store (see our Baltimore guide →) and say hello to your housemates

Pick up bedding, toiletries and anything your room doesn’t come with, and set up a local SIM or phone plan
Walk the route to campus once in daylight, and register for university orientation if you haven’t already

Open a US bank account (or activate an international card), and confirm utilities and internet are active if not included in rent. Learn more →
Work out your transit pass — shuttle, MTA bus, or bike (learn more →), and explore Charles Village and Remington on foot (walking guide →)
Join a CAMP-US or campus group to start building a circle — check Instagram for what’s on

Finish course registration and any outstanding orientation modules, and sort your student ID if you haven’t yet
Do a first budget check-in against your actual spending
Go to a CAMP-US event, check Instagram for what’s on, and if you’re a CAMP-US resident, tell us how the move-in actually went — good or bad
