Edelweiss is a four-bedroom rowhouse on Maryland Avenue, three floors of it, and it has been committed to a single idea: a Swiss chalet in Baltimore. The living room has an alpine mural down one wall, a cowhide on the floor, a green velvet sofa, vintage travel posters for Lausanne and the Gstaad Palace, and a whole wall of cuckoo clocks. The kitchen keeps a fondue set and a raclette grill, and they are not ornaments. The bedrooms take their names from the country: Geneva and Lucerne on the second floor, Zurich and the Alps on the third. There is a study room with a whiteboard on the second-floor landing, a bathroom on every floor, and a washer downstairs.
