And the house takes it seriously. Panelled walls and a chandelier over the dining table, blue velvet in the living room, gilt mirrors above the fireplace, the Mona Lisa on one wall and a Tintin panel on another. Le Petit Prince on the placemats, a framed front page of L'Aube, croissants on the sideboard. Upstairs, five rooms named for Paris streets, each one papered in toile de Jouy — and an Eiffel Tower on the landing to see you up to the third floor.
